On Thursday, October 8, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution declaring October 20 as the National Day on Writing!
The National Gallery of Writing Opens at 12:01 a.m. Eastern time, on Tuesday, October 20

Celebrate The National Day of Writing on October 20 by encouraging your students, your colleagues, parents, administrators and friends to submit a piece of writing to CATE's Gallery.

Gallery Description
The CATE (California Teachers of English) Gallery of Writing features work from teachers, students, parents, administrators and “just plain folks” from all the counties in California, from the tip to the top, from the youngest to the oldest!
 

Submission Guidelines
We want to showcase the diversity of cultures and beliefs, the range of ideas and philosophies, the many and varied voices that make up California today. Share this vision through your letters, memoirs, poems, podcasts, essays, short stories, instructions, reports, editorials, video clips, biographical sketches and speeches.

We hope to receive work from all the counties in California, from the tip to the top as well as from the youngest and the oldest of you out there.

Submissions to the gallery can be made through June 1, 2010.
